Race Course; the race course will be a 5 mile triangle lap course 2.2 mi. x 1.2 x 1.6 mi. with the longest line set across the wind. The course markers will be set up early in the morning of the event. Three groups of banners or flags will be set up at the three course corners. Smaller flags on sticks will be set every 300ft along the race course to show direction. A second set of small flags to show the pit area. The pit is a no travel area for the changing or repairing of equipment. The pit may also be used by pilots as a rest area. No racing is ever permitted in the pits. 2 small tents will be set at the 2 far corners for water and point sitters. 2. The race will start as early in the day as there is sufficient wind. Minimum wind speed is 6 mph. The race will officially go into hold when the winds drop below minimum conditions for a period of 15 min. Cancellation of the race will be decided by the race judge. 3. The racers are started at the start/stop line in 30 sec intervals. The racers will get a 100ft "roll in" prior to the start line to get up to speed. As the racer passes the start line their starting time is recorded on the racer time sheet. Racers will round the course counter clockwise. 4. 3 people will be in charge of accounting for the lap times. #1 will call off the number of the racer to the time manager. #2 will call out the time as the racer crosses the start line. #3 is the time manager who records the number and time on the racer time sheet. This procedure occurs each time a racer crosses the start line. It should be suggested to the racers not to group up at the line. 5. Each racer will wear a colored number band on their lower right leg to identify the person and race that they are registered in. 6. Racers in the 10 mile race will be checkered flagged after 2 laps. At 5 laps the 25 mile racers will be checkered flagged and all 50 mile racers will be flagged out at the start line for a 45 min. rest break. At this time the restart order will be arranged by tabulating the best to worst time of the first 5 laps. After the break the race will resume by restarting the racers by order in 30 sec. intervals with 100 ft roll in. 7. After the racers 10th lap the 50 mile racers will be checker flagged and the timed races are over. Times will be tabulated the night after the race. The race winners and each racers individual record will be determined at this time. 8. Racers in the Enduro Challenge will continue to round the course (not timed) as many times as they can. 1 lap counter will remain to count each racers lap. The EC will end whenever the last racer stops or then the sun or wind stops. The winner is determined by the racer who has completed the most laps and not necessarily the last racer rolling. 9. In case of wind delays (1 hr or more) occurring in the : 10 mile - all races restarted. 25 mile - 25 and 50 restarted on current lap # 50 mile - 50 and EC restarted on current lap # the following day. 10. Fastest mile record - racers are started every 15 - 30 sec. on a 1 mile line race across the wind to a finish line where they are clocked out. The two times are compared to determine the winner. Only 1st place is allotted in this race. 11. Two wheel record (timed) - racers get 2 - 3 attempts to buggy on 2 wheels for as long as possible. Timers will watch the racer with binoculars and start the clock when the wheel first lifts, and stop when the wheel touches back down. Racers may change or continue in the same direction. Racers should allow 30 sec. between attempts to allow time for accounting. Only 1st place is allotted in this race. Tabulations for Sundays events will be done immediately following the races. 12. The BBE will be concluded with a 1/2 mile group sprint race. All racers start with their kites on the ground. On the start signal racers launch their kites and proceed to race 1/2 mile across the wind to the finish line. Blocking of buggies and kites are allowed, but no contact of buggies or bodies can be made. The 1st or maybe all who cross the finish line are winners. 13. The only official time is kept by the lap manager and the race judge. Ruling of the race judge are final. Racers must follow all race rules to participate. 14. Registration fees are: $30.00 to enter any 1 race. $10.00 for additional races (no limit) 1 mile rec. / 2 wheel rec. group sprint - Free with registration. 15 Other activities: Buggy lessons Open buggy continuously in outlying areas around the race area. 16.
