Subject: Building a Battle Rokkaku

I am planning to build a battle rokkaku before the team
heads off to Verdun. (And now that I have said it on the
net, I have to do it. :-) A few questions for those
veterans of Rokkaku Battles.

Is there a prefered size? (Eight to ten feet in height?)
Will a larger kite be harder to maneuver? A smaller one
not have enough power to tip others and cut lines?

Is there a prefered ratio? (6-5-4? 5-4-3? Any others?)
Stability, will one be easier to tip than others? Is one
more maneuverable than others?

Any other considerations?

Thanks,

- Kevin

The AKA rules say:

Individual: 1m high MINIMUM
Team: 2m high MINIMUM

I can't lay my hands on the UK rules, but I seem to remember that thay are:

Individual: 1m high MAXIMUM
Team: 2m high MAXIMUM

1m or 2m would seem ot be the size to go for...

sorry Andrew not quite right

UK rules

Individual 1m minimum 1.5m maximum
Team 2m minimum no maximum

In fact very similar to the US rules you've just quoted, except anything
between 1.5m and 2m is useless for competition.

In the UK the preferred sizes seem to be at the lower end of these sizes
the Americans seem to like them a bit bigger.
