Subject: Building a Raaseri

Kiters,

I using several kites from a small dutch factory (WEPA) and
thought it would be nice to build one myself. At the web
I found a design for a raaseri complete with a great
description and nice templates.

What I want to know is:

i've never built a kite before, Is it possible to build
a raaseri without experience.
Is there somebody beside the N@RK members who built one and
can give me some good advise.

Are there more of this kind building descriptions availlable ?

Thanks in advance,

because they are all experienced Kiteflyers and I want
some opinions from people with less experience as them.

I know their addresses and would certainly not hesitate
to ask them if I have a problem.

I also busy to download all the related articles from the
faq(s).

Hi,

Usually the n@r.k members are reading r.k quite regularly as well
as their private email. Why not just ask them?

Martin,

As I said earlier I am looking for comments and remarks from
Less experienced (no offence) Kite flyers who build a
Raaseri.

I want to start building but I realize that I have to read
a lot (faq's) about building Kites. A lot of term I know but there
are a few from wich i have problems to apply the to the
raaseri plans and didn't know exectly what the purpose from these
things are.

So asking questions about why there are standoff's and why are there
tension lines at the spine can i do later and when I know more
about the theory off kiting.

Thanks for your reply,

Hi Rob !

I've just began building an UL-RAASERI. This will be the second
one I've made (My first 'selfmade' kite was an BATKITE), so that
I'd like to encourage you to start !

You're right, it is a really good description, but not only the
plan - the kite itself is even better... (i've seen it on FANO,
a few weeks ago) and if you have questions, why don't you ask
Simo !? He his a nice guy, who will reply immediately !! (personal
experience) Beside, I'm sure all the n@rk guys will do the same !
(Hi Bernhard !)

Martin.
