Just heard a report on the Chicago fly this past weekend from a biaqst sorce. Would like to
hear from some Chicago attendies on their view. Heard that a guy here in Ga. did pretty good.

I was there all 3 days and it was a bit of a disappointment actually.
Really unorganized! The reps didn't know where or when they could
demo, they hadn't set up anyone for the PA job in advance (they
harranged somebody into it finally), the guy putting on the event was
out on the field competing and judging instead of promoting and
keeping things running smoothly, and DEAD air 900f the event. Was
called early on SA due to low (no) winds.

Most of the time the only kites in the air were ZDX's, AirFX SL's, and
Skyburner Pro-Dancers. Flew the ZDX and the AirFX SL...man I got to
have the AirFX!! Sweet 0-8 mph kite! $320!! (argh)

The 'guy' from GA was Reed Richards. I know he did take Masters or
maybe it was Experienced Individual Ballet.(flown to "Georgia") He
builds the ZDX. Don't know how he did in pairs or team though.

Ron Riech was there and gave a workshop on choreography. Flew some
dog-stake and stuff too. Of course he's always amazing. Stretch
Tucker was there too with his beautiful single line kites. The guy
that took open quad flew a Synergy-Deca and he was really good with
that thing. Chicago Fire took Masters Team Ballet (of course), now
that's a real show to watch!

To be fair to K&R Kites ( the folks that put the Fest on) it really
was their first event. I guess the one last year was washed out big
time.

Hey, anytime you can hang around a bunch of kiters instead of going to
work, is a great time!

Just my opinion ;-) And I will be back next year! Wish Kurt and
Tigger at K&R the best of luck. Good people!

Sam

Sam, Thanks for mentioning Reed Richards and his Masters win. I talked to
him this weekend (and flew a NEW ZDX prototype):0 He said it was the
"type of flight where everything went perfect" and was still very excited
about the event.
We had a good fly-in here in Myrtle Beach and Reed was flyin' super.
