It will include novice through masters level competition, and is sanctioned by both the AKA and the American Kite circuit. This is the third year for this regional event and it is getting bigger and better each year. In addition to the competition, there will be manufacturers demos, learn to fly sessions, childrens games, kite buggy and roller blade demos, and a rok battle. There is also an area set aside for single line flyers. Bob Childs will be demoing his "Wheels of Doom" and kite artist Randy Tom will be the featured guest flyer. Randy may also be doing an applique workshop. For those whose significant others are not into kiting as much as you are, the Chicago areas largest mall is less than a mile away. Of interest to your children, Ronald McDonald will be stopping by on Sunday. All proceeds from the concessions will be going to charity. For more information about this event call Wilma or Bob Neiman at the Chicago Kite Company (708) 359-2556. --------------- Alan Sparling ajs@stairs.att.com = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Fri, 17 Mar 1995 11:50:44 -1000 From: ajs@stairs.nw.att.com (Alan Sparling) Message-Id: Organization: AT&T Enhanced 9-1-1 Development Subject: Chicago Sport Kite Festival The details for the 4th Annual Chicago Sport Kite Festival are firming up and we are going to have quite a festival this year. This is our first year as an AKM National event and our competition is also recognized by the AKA. Our featured sport kite flier this year is Scott Augenbaugh. Precision events will be held on Friday, June 9th, followed by a party at That's Entertainment. The pilots meeting for the ballet events will be held during the early stages of this party. The festival will kick into high gear on Saturday with ballet events, kids kite making with Charlie Sotich, manufacturers demos, and learn to fly sessions. Saturday night will include a pizza bash, seminars, and an indoor competition. On Sunday there will be a Rok battle and any remaining ballet events will be finished. In addition demos, kids kite making and learn to fly will continue. There will be a kite raffle and silent auction on both days to benefit the American Cancer Society. The CSKF is not just for sport kites, space has been set aside for single line fliers. The AKA's new president Pete Dolphin is our featured single line artist this year. The Chicago Sport Kite Festival is being sponsored this year by That's Entertainment and the Chicago Kite Company.
