Ok, this is a strange question but I'll ask anyway. Is Berkeley SKC, East Coast SKC, etc a competition, festival, event, ... ? What would you call Ballet, Precision, Innovative? The reason I ask this is that I just finished writing a program that deals with competitions and events. I needed to have a generic term to describe each 'thing'. What I ended up using was the following: Competition Class Type Event Heat -------------- ------- ----- --------- ------ such as Berkeley SKC Masters Team Ballet Finals or AKA convention Novice Indiv Precision Heat 1 Does anyone know how other sports use these terms? Competition and Event are the most 'cross-used' (tm :{) ) terms. Does anyone have a STRONG arguement why is should be one way or the other?
