Been quitely lurking for a while as work has been pretty hectic. But while this is sometimes a bad thing as it cuts down kite making and flying time work will be bringing me to Wurzburg, Germany at the end of August which the Festival FAQ tells me is just about when DIEPPE is on. The Dieppe 'Capital du Cerf-Volant' Intenational Festival is one of the best festivals that I have ever been to. In 1994 there were over 60 countries represented with somewhere on the order of 600 International guests. It is my understanding that the event is every other year, but there may be a smaller festival held for locals in off years. Evening meals at in Dieppe are practically a whos - who of kiting. The big international festival in Dieppe, France, is held every other year. What this means is that Dieppe will be a great place to fly this Fall, because it won't be very crowded. No one else will be there. The official festival is, of course, scheduled for 1996. There are also rumors about a pending relationship between Dieppe and Verdun in Canada. It sounds like the two events may "alternate" years and plan for additional cooperation. Sounds very promising. AKA will be represented in Verdun this year by President Pete.
