Martin has been asked by a disabled kiteflying friend, if he knows of anybody that might have had any experience of buggying devices that might allow an individual with no use of their legs to buggy. Martin informed him of the option of tandem buggying but he's also keen to find out what else might be available. In particular, has anybody used one of the Peter Lynn buggy/ yachts? Do they need to be steered by feet or can they be steered by moving body weight around (this chap is a strong swimmer by the way!). He was also asking about a land yachting device that is steered by rocking the body weight from side to side. I don't know if this is a device which is built specifically for disabled land yachting or whether this is generally how they are steered. Does anybody know about these, and if so, do you think they could be used for buggying? Sorry to be so vague, but I hope you get the general point of the question. I showed Martin Thomas around the net recently and he was amazed at the scope of internet land. He's hoping to get Leading Edge/Fizz Kites (aka Tim Benson) on the net in the near future. cheers, tom. _____________________________________________________________________ Tom Jackson, * One thing about intellectuals, Research Manager (HISE Group), * they proved that they can be Dept. of Computer Science, * absolutely brilliant and have University of York, Heslington, * no idea what's going on. There is of course various things to consider when designing something of this kind.I have given a little thought to this matter myself as my girlfriend is dis-abled and I would like her to join me buggying. The biggest problem I could foresee was not in the buggy itself but the problem of learning how to do it.It is not easy and beginners do tend to get bodily "wrenched" from the buggy and dragged around rather a lot.Would this be a problem do you think? It would be nice to think not as it would be nice for dis-abled people to share in the fun. Neil(pegleg)LVKF = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
