Subject: Help with ferrule

I crashed my Tracer over the weekend and shattered the spine. I have the
replacement graphite rod, but I can't get it out of the ferrule (hope I spelled
it right). The fix should have been easy I thought. Apparently I need to
break the super glue. Any advise you could offer based on your experiences
would be appreciated. There is no kite store handy to Reston, VA so it is not
an easy thing to pick up the parts to rebuild the whole thing. Thanks in
advance for your help.

Try going to an archery store and ask to see the bin they keep the
the pieces that they cut off the arrows they custom cut. You should
be able to find a piece of arrow shaft that will fit the extension of
your spine.

You oughta replace the whole spine. A great source for kite supplies is in
Richmond, VA, called Hang 'em High Fabrics. Tom there is a real pro, and can
certainly help you out with any replacement questions. I don't have the
number on me, but it's in the 804 area code.....
