Subject: How do I replace standoffs on a Stinger?

I have a Stinger 1000 and the standoff is splintering. I've got the
fiberglass rod to replace it but don't know what to use to remove the glue
that holds the original in place. Is it superglue? I'm hesitant about
using a solvent as it might melt the plastic fitting. I'd appreciate any
ideas.
Thanks,

many earlier models of the Stinger 1k, 750 and Slash were glued with a gap
filler such as Super T or Zap it. The '95 kites aren't glued at all but held
in place by sail tension. If you destroy the connector, call me, I'll send
you a new one. 800.227.7878

Phil There may be something to remove the glue; however I would replace the fitting as well as
the standoff.
