My orgin is Atlanta, Ga. I am a new reader of this newsgroup and would like to begin rec- ieving this wealth of Kiting information, if possible. I am currently a member of the AKA, the Bald Mountain Kite Club, Fidonet (1:133/901, 1:133/910), Busilink (10:112/1, 10:112/3), RBBS-NET (8:929/1, 8:929/3), and let's see........the human race. Have been Kiting for 7 or 8 years now, ("time flies when your....) My interest in this great sport/craft is "Fun Flys" and just recently, stunt competitions. Am also a beginning Kitemaker. Hmmm....what's that mean?? I run an "Electronic Bulletin Board called AIR APPARENT here in Atlanta with it's focus on Kites, and Kiting. If any of you are interested in BBSing, the number is 404-998-7360, 24hrs, 9600 bps, 8-N-1. We support ASCII, ANSI and am just toying with the new RIP graphics. Have only recently laid eyes on a couple of posts in rec.kites, so i'm not to familiar with the format, or conversation strings, so i'll end this post as an introduction of myself, and a request for acceptance. I have a compuserve account that I don't use much. Although I was aware that I could mail through the internet, I didn't know Usenet was accessible. Did you access rec.kites through Compuserve? I have an ex-girlfriend from the Atlanta area, yuck (the girlfriend not GA), actually she was a spoiled rich little number from Lookout Mtn. .02 Todd <<>> Thanks! Hello all.... Sub'd to this group as soon as heard that it existed, - that was from Colin Douthwaite this weekend - a fellow survivor of the coldest wettest kite fest yet seen.... (but we *did* get to meet some good people and see some vv nice kites). I'm into my 6-7th month of kite fever - Indian Fighters are my passion. Have had a lot of fun (?) building a couple - and I do have a Grandmaster when I just want trouble- free flying. After this weekend, and with winter coming on I'm considering one of those hi-tech two line stunters - boy do they *go* in a gale! - but there's nothing like doing it all with just one line.... ----------------------------- Steve Brorens +64 (25) 332-289 "...it's a funny old world..." steve@sbrorens.equinox.gen.nz ----------------------------- = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
