(1-800-827-6364) Subject: kiters' wedding The wedding of Roger and Kathy (Thomson) Chewning took place on Friday, December 23rd, 1994. The bride was *stunning* in her off-the-shoulder white gown and the groom was very handsome in his black tux. Guests were donned in suits (with kite ties!-JTavo) and velvet and festive clothes for true holiday flair. Kiters and friends were invited to the newlyweds' home for a reception that evening and were welcomed by Christmas lights hanging in a tree in the shape of a diamond kite with a tail. Candles filled every room in the house, on wall sconces, in votives and in holiday floral arrangements. Hors douvres were served by waiters, most notably (IMHO) asparagus in puff pastry and chicken in peanut sauce with a vast array of beers and wine. Beautiful music was provided by guitarists Alan Chewning (brother of the groom) and Dorothy Wagner with vocals by Alan and Corkey Chewning (also brother of the groom). Such talent! We all joined in with Christmas carols, occassionally making up the words as we went along. The evening was complete with a champagne toast and a lovely triple layer chocolate cake filled with chocolate mousse and chocolate raspberry fudge and decorated with huge white chocolate curls. Rec.kiters in attendance were: Judy Winkler, Dodd & Jenny Gross, Fran & Mary Gramkowski, Thom Shanken, Lance & Dorothy Wagner, Bill & Suzanne Edison, and John & Eileen Tavolacci. Other kite folks included: Olan & Bernice Turner, Pete & Valerie Dolphin, Ray & Jeanne Merry, Tim Waters & Karen (sorry, still haven't gotten to the formality of last names!), Ralph Offredo, and John Rose & Sherrie Erlich. (My apologies if I missed someone.) The newlyweds are honeymooning in The Cayman Islands. - Eileen Tavolacci Happy New Year Everybody!
