Hi Larry,

Ive been flying the Micron for about a month. I love it. My 4 year old
son thinks it looks like I've caught a "mad Fish" because it goes so
fast. I am trying to fly some team with a friend of mine but it is tough
at Micron speeds. I usually tell new micron flyers that they might
consider tying thier wrists together to keep from over controlling until
they get used to the small control inputs and speed.

Dan

Dan, the only beef I have is I called Prism and I feel the want me to send the
whole kite back as the center piece broke, not flying! It just popped!
So all is needed is the center piece and 2 end caps for the spine, this is an
easy fix! There was someone who mentioned "Jury Rig" and I did it and it
works-but I have called Prism and they haven't called back. On the other side
it is a trip to fly ! When the wind picks up wow! Speedy-did you see the
punch turn? a blur-you stop and it stands still in the air! A tip for anyone
out there is to fly the critter with your thumb and index finger on lines.
I like it! Hate to send things back that need minimum repair though.
 The fun kite defenetly!!

Been flying my Micron for 3 months now. Light winds and heavy winds.
What a blast! Never have broken anything. The only complaint is that
on hard landings, sometimes the spreaders will pop from the ends. At
least it's a short walk to the kite. My only regret is that I can't spend
more time flying it.

A mad fish! Now I like that one -it dose look like something pissed when
in a good wind! I heard from BFK they are going to send a part that was
small problem. What I want to do next with mine is go doun to 35 LB Spectra
at same lenght line. If you don't have fast reflexe's -do not mess with this
one! How many I wonder are using the Thumb an index finger grip for better
control? Hey it works for me!-an those lines have to be perfect when it is
put up in the sky!

Yes, I have one too ...

I bought mine about a year ago but have only flown it a couple
of times. On both accessions I was abroad and on both time I
broke or lost something. The first time I lost the end caps
which are used on the spreaders every time I landed the kite
(OK, crashed it). That problem was solved by fitting slightly
larger end caps. The next time the sail pulled over the stop
which is supposed to hold the sail between the stop and the
end cap - the solution to that (I hope) is too fit somewhat
tubing with thicker walls around the spreader to act as a
stop. I can't help but think that there must be a better way
of doing this. Surely some sort of washer on each end of the
spreaders (perhaps like the fittings on the stand offs of the
Radian?) would have been better.

Still if you modified your Micro-ion I would like to hear
???????

And yes, when it is flying it's great fun and just a little
crazy!

I guess I'll join this thread and let the world know I too own a Micron.
It's a great little kite. Kind of like a mosquito buzzing around. It has
instant acceleration that will sometimes lead to a little trouble.

With regard to Tony's statement below about the sail pulling over the stop,
I've experienced that problem also. Seems those little holes stretch over
time. At the present time the way I have gotten around the problem is to
put the spreader through the hole AND through the bridal loop. The bridal
tightens down and seems to give enough stability that I haven't had any
further problem.

Then again, I'm am getting better at flying it and am not grinding it into
the ground like I did on the first few flights. :)

In fact, I am heading out right now -- nice day, steady breeze -- what more
can one ask for?

Later...

on Memorial Day! The winds were high the thing was buzzin like a

But think of the wind and speed that the little thing does is

LOVE IT AND I ENJOY FLYING IT TOO!
THE TWO MODIFICATIONS I'VE DONE ARE: BY USING SUPER GLUE, I FIXED

SECONDLY I ADDED A BOW LINE USING THREAD AND GLUE, WORKS GREAT WHEN

KEEP ON RIPPING THE WIND WITH THOSE MICRONS!!!!!!!!!

Mark, those are carbon fibre , I have found that in Model Aviation
to be causious when mixing cyanoacrylates, however the idea is a good
one and probibly be safe. We use the real thin Cyano for penitrating carbon
fibre tow (looks like hair) makes it like steel! And if you need to replace
the rubber bands -I use the kind that is used for braces for teeth-
the ol Larks head loop! Hey we have another satisfied Micron owner-
hey why don't we all start a Society for Micron Fliers. The first to do
Stair Steps gets a Medal for doing it with a Micron!
Just a thought, another Micron user.
