(1-800-827-6364) Subject: Nasty Garbage For the past several months I've endured Mr. Natsy's blatherings without comment. Enough is enough! A lot has been made about limiting advertisement on rec.kites...I think there's another even more important limitation we should imposed...Can we get a rule limiting use of the net for rude, crude, unsubstantiated character assasination? I got Nasty's point long ago, so lets cut to the chase.. Nasty doesn't like Gomberg, is not a member of the AKA, doesn't like the rules committee (it wouldn't make any difference who's serving), thinks all rules other than his own are chaotic, won't work within the system for changes which can't be made from the outside, and enjoys being generally disagreeable. Hey, if that all floats his boat (or flys his kite) so be it. It sounds like a very sad life to me, but it is, after all, his life. I just hate like hell to read personal attacks against peolple who I do know, who I consider friends and who have worked uselfishly for the betterment of all who fly kites. Go ahead, Nasty...plenty of flame bait...Strut your stuff. Just remember when you start attacking me personally that we have never met and don't know each other. To set the record straight right now, I don't have a pointed head...just a level headed disdain for people who treat their fellow human beigns like crap. Now that I've got that off my chest, can we get back to some MEANINGFUL dialogue about the newly forming international fllying organizaion John A. Gabby Jr. Think kindly thoughts. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Fri, 24 Feb 1995 19:05:30 -1000 From: spectre575@aol.com (Spectre575) Message-Id: <3imdqq$49l@newsbf02.news.aol.com> Organization: America Online, Inc. My one question is this, Who died and made this person God? Mom always said that if you don't have anything nice to say then keep your trap shut. I can get as nasty as the rest of them, but then again I'd like to think that I have more class then that. If you really need to Get nasty then you should do it by Email, this is not an endorsement to do just that. Just keep the garbage off the net so that the rest of us don't have to put up with the bullshit. We're tired of it Frank, Give it a break -Aoxomoxoa -Brian K. Sometimes things slip over and there is complete lack of control. Rec.kites is usually very good about such things. In order to have control, this group would have to be moderated, which is a very difficult thing to do. It requires lots of time and censoring anything is a bad thing. If I were moderating rec.kites, I would only remove SPAM (even though I like the stuff, but I was born in Hawaii, so it figures that I would like it), requests that should have gone to the mailing list administrator, and clearly obscene material. Everything else should be seen... Mr. Nasty clearly enjoys his exchanges with folks and his posting on the net. He is clearly good at getting under people's skin and I think that we all occasionally need to get knocked around, otherwise we take ourselves too seriously. But I found that I didn't want to read any more of Frank Kenisky's postings, so I put him into my kill file. Now I only know about his latest messages when someone quotes from one his messages. That's a good distance for me. Since putting Frank in my kill file, I've enjoyed rec.kites much more than in the past. So, if you enjoy the interchange with Mr. Nasty, then continue things in private. -- Marty Sasaki Harvard University Sasaki Kite Fabrications sasaki@harvard.edu Network Services Division 90 Melrose Street 617-496-4320 10 Ware Street Arlington, MA 02174 Cambridge, MA 02138-4002 phone/fax: 617-646-1925 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
