He taught a couple of us how to do it. Its an axel variant, and for lack of better name, we were calling it a "rixel" (Rick's axel). At least, I've never seen it done before... Very likely a kite dependent trick, it goes like this. First, fly your kite left, past center window, at around 30 As the kite starts to lose speed, snap the top line with an axel like motion. The kite should halt and roll CCW onto its belly. Now falling down and back toward the center of the window, the kite continues its CCW roll until its on its back in a near turtle position. As the kite slides sideways to the right while on its back, re-establish line tension and pop it back up into flight. Rick does a variation of this move by landing it just as it rolls over to its back from its belly. Kite used: Buena Vista XTC.
