I've sent off a few new JPEGs to Kevin for inclusion in the rec.kites archive. They are: kling.jpg: yet another picture of my 3/4 tracer. I'd have to say that the original that this was scanned from is one of my all-time favorite kite pictures. The kite is made of carrington and my sister-in-law managed to capture the kite glowing despite a dark, cloudy backdrop. Don't ask about the filename... ;-) revs.jpg: a picture of two stacked custom Revs hovering in front of the Washington Monument. These are the icarex revs I've mentioned a few times. martian.jpg: Unfortunately, the pictures of Martian's Legs I'd been waiting to get from my brother weren't as good as I'd hoped. The colors are rather dull and they're basically just medicore pictures. I went ahead and scanned one, then fiddled with the colors a bit. The green on the legs is still rather muted out, but I managed to give the whole thing a very surreal backdrop...some might say extra-terrestrial. But hey, at least the claws are visible. All three of these scans are full color (24-bit) scans, 800x800 or bigger. I had pretty good results converting them to GIF and viewing them on a graphics card only capable of 256 colors. Kevin has told me that the files have been received in good condition and they should be in the archives Real Soon Now. Thanks, kevin... Hope you enjoy them. Jeff -- |Jeffrey C.
