I am looking for Rokkaku plans. Just build it...Rok's don't really care too much. The most common ratios are 6-5-4 and 5-4-3 (these are the number of units to use for the spine, the spreaders, and the vertical distance between the spreaders...ie, you'll build a great kite if it's 6' tall, 5' wide, and the spreaders are 4' apart). That said, have another look in the archives and you'll see a number of Rok-related items in pub/rec/kites/tech, including a PostScript sketch (with all dimensions) for a 1.7m rokkaku. GNU produce free software which retains author copyright and are based at MIT. I believe that Richard Stallman is the man in charge, and a man of mystery too. GZIP (the compression software) is available for a whole host of platforms and should be available from the MIT ftp site or the platform specific binary dump of your choice. eg: micros.hensa.ac.uk simon = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Thu, 2 Feb 1995 18:50:56 -1000 From: harris@bhc.com (Bob Harris) Message-Id: Organization: North Bay Network's news posting service - not responsible for content Subject: Re: Plans In article crowell@teleport.com (Carl Crowell) writes: > dickbell@netcom.com (Dick Bell) writes: > > >I know this question will sound dumb but.....I was just at the Hawaii site > >and downloaded the centipede plan....the file extention has a gz at the end > >I know that this is a file that is compressed...how do I uncompress the > >file before I bring it from my server to my PC? > > This sounds even dumber... You do not open the file directly. Again if you have a Mac use the Laserwriter utility or the newer Apple Printer Utility and simply send this file to your postscript laser printer. Prints out the Centipede beautifully I might add. I just did it.
