Just a reminder that kites can be dangerous... This weekend while at the Westport Windriders monthly fun fly, a person (who shall remain shaking) was launching his flow form with attached spin sock(the kite is approx. 360 square feet in size and the spin sock is 180 ft long)he was doing a long line launch and some slack developed in the line and in a moment of inattention he was pulled about 50 to 60 feet in the air. Fortunately he was able to slide down the line and had only slight burns on his arm pit where the line burned through his coat and sweatshirt. This person was very shaken as were most of the members of the club. I thought that we all could use a reminder as the busy season starts.
