Over the weekend >I was watching the Discovery Channel when they showed a special >segment on "Mountain Bike Wheelchairs". I believe that was on "Next Step". And speaking thereof, this show is actually a production of KRON, a tv station in San Francisco. It appears first on Channel 4 in SF, than makes its way to Discovery. I watched last week and they had a very good piece on Kite Water Skiing. It was wayyy _TOO_COOL_. Really amazing. They had what looked like a 12-15' Banshee Scimitar (maybe- large, curved leading edge, sort of abbreviated U-shape) which had its lines run back to this weird contraption which had a reel for deploying the lines that had a disc-brake on it. The guys who were skiiing on this setup were getting speeds around 30 MPH, I think. I don't know how long it takes for "Next Step" to get from channel 4 to the Discovery Channel, but I'll be watching for it... -Arch. -- Arch Mott | arch@cisco.com | The Circus Theory of Project cisco Systems, Inc. | Voice:(415)688-8245 | Management: If you have too 1525 O'Brien Drive | FAX:(415)428-5080 | many balls in the air, throw Menlo Park, CA 94026 |---------------------| one to some other clown... = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Fri, 22 Apr 1994 04:15:07 -1000 From: pwmeek@garnet.msen.com (Peter W. I keep missing them. OK. "Next Step" is on the Discovery Channel on Tuesday nights (21:30 pacific time). Judging from this week's ad the kite water-skiing piece will either be on tomorrow (4/26) or next tuesday (5/3). Sorry I can't be more precise... = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
