Wasn't it Martin Lester?

1991 in Jacksonville, if I recall correctly.

First trophy built by Rick Cole, correct?

Hey, Steve had died several years earlier. Now, how did he die?

Trivia Question #4-D

Gentle breezes,

Steve

PS: While we're at it, who did Steve have a promotional contract with
when he died?

While I thought the original post, and the idea of trivia questions
relating to kiting to be okay, I think SPC has taken this a bit too far.
A trivia (!!??) question concerning one of the few tragic deaths
we've experienced in the sport of kite flying seems a bit much.
For those who might want to know, I believe that Steve got caught up in
the lines of a large kite during launch and fell a hundred or so feet.
I suppose that knowledge might be useful as a warning to newcomers to the
sport as to the serious nature of large kites, but I feel really weird
addressing the issue in the context of a trivia question.

Oh come on. It all depends on how you look at the word trivia. In many
ways a show like _Jeopardy_ can be said to be about "trivia".

Just because something may be "trivia", does not make it "trivial"!

Let's not get into a big semantic discussion.
