Subject: STRANGER REPLACEMENT FITTINGS

A few days ago I reported replacing standard Stranger leading edge
fittings with Prism Eclipse fittings which had been bored out to 15/64".
The harder fittings work great with no tendency for the rod to poke
through or for fly lines to cut into the fitting. So far so good. The
15/64" was a little large and the spars have a tendency to come loose
during ground work, flip overs and the like. The 15/64" was
theoretically O.K. cuz 6 MM rod should be 0.236" versus 0.234" for 15/64.
It seems that the 6 MM rods that came with my kite measure out at about
0.232 and the fit is too loose. It's really too loose when 0.230 rod is
used as a substitute for the 6 MM which can't be found in my area.
Tonight I installed some Prism Eclipse fittings just as they come out of
the bag. It's a tight fit but it does go together. We'll see how this
works and I'll report again.

Sorry Ken, from the stranger capital of the northwest, I must have missed
something... perchance, why are you puting prism fittings on a stranger ?
My Strangers seem to fly better with Stranger fittings..

As a followup to my previous note, the Prism standard fittings worked
fine on the stranger and passed a very wild test.
