If I'm stealing your idea then feel free to flame me but please do it on e-mail and btw-please be reciprical [sp]. Chris Moore, Kelly Reed, Abel Ortega and (yes) Mr.Nasty are working on getting space on a server to set up a web page which will include all the clubs in this area with the club logo as a means of url'ing to the club profile section. The club profile section will include the name of the president, some background on the club, a few teasers from the club newsletter, and pins or patches the club may have available. We are working on trying to also include a space where Web browsers can put comments or even request information from clubs on upcoming events or just more information on the clubs. We felt that this would help local clubs increase membership through cyberspace. There would also be an area for comments and request for future topics to discuss. As the founder of a local kite club and editor of the newsletter, I know first hand what it takes to get ideas for articles. So the request area would be a great way to get started. With the net and rec.kites the request for additional information could be posted for the benefit of all rec.kiters and provide useful information for articles in local newsletters. I realize that someone has already thought of this. I'm sure David Gomberg is on the committee. We will also provide an area for local kite business to advertise, so Web browsers can see both the local club activity and the place to purchase materials kites. This will all be maintained in Austin by Kelly Reed who has agreed, (because he's getting free access) to maintain the system. If your club is within the SWSKC boundries and would like to get involved in this Web Page you can e-mail me at Mr.Nasty@ix.netcom.com were still in the planning stages. If you think other clubs also might be interested pass this info to them. This is a way to get more people involved in rec.kites, (so we don't have the same ole stale...well you know what I mean) and in local club activity.
