Subject: Train of Trilbys

I am in the process of creating a Trilby Train (the ripstop kind, NOT
the plastic variety). Do I really need to break down the kites each time
I am done flying them, or can I leave them assembled and pack them in a
box (or something)? If they stay assembled, will the sail stretch
degrade the performance of the kite (as if the Trilby was a high
performance kite to begin with :-)?

Thanks,

Brian

You can use a box, but most folks with trains like this use a bag. MLD
makes cordura bags with zipper closure in serveral sizes to fit
Dyna-kites. It should be easy to fashion a bag for Trlbys or one of
MLD's bags might work.

Sail stretch doesn't seem to be much of a problem with diamond
stunters. It might be a problem with the Mirage kites, they have a
pretty tight sail, but Trlby's, Dyna-kites, and Rainbow stunt kites
don't seem adversely affected by being set up and stored that way.

I just _happened_ to have an M.L.D. catalog close at hand, and they make
a Big Wings Tote bag sized for Trlby's.. It's 36"H x 3.5"D x 33"W.. Order
style KBT1 from your favorite kite dealer, or e-mail me.. I have one of
these bags as a home for my 15 stack of poly-sailed Trlby's, and I
endorse it (and all M.L.D. products) heartily.. They make tote bags for
Dynakites and Hyperkites as well..

Ob. Disclaimer:

I am a stunt kite dealer and carry some of the above mentioned
product(s). As such, my opinions may tend to be somewhat subjective.
