I've been following the Artistic vs technical thread for quite a while, and several times, referemnces to outstanding routines have been mentioned. Among these are the Battle Hymn of the Republic, Lois and Superman, Over the Rainbow, etc... Unfortunately, I was not present at any of the events where these were flown, and I don't have access to the videos. A request and suggestion: I think that a compilation of the "Best Moments in Stunt Kiting" is in order. I know that there are videos of several competitions but I don't really want to buy all of them. I would like to get a list of all those spectacular routines and which events they came from, and where to get the tapes. Better yet, some kind soul with all the tapes could put together the best of. Why, that person could even charge a small fee to cover their editing work. What do you all think? I don't have the time or the money to attend many events, but I really want to keep up with the "sport." It also helps to watch others to get inspired (as Steve has pointed out). As a drummer, I've borrowed some of my best chops from Neal Peart, but the way I combine them is all mine. Thanks, Dean -- Q \ | Dean C. Technically, most of the video tapes of events that are being sold have been copyrighted. This means that someone really can't make a copy of the tape to send to you. Also, most events prohibit the taping/filming of an event for profit without written permission of the organizers. I'll try to gather some of the stuff that I have shot together for a tape... -- Marty Sasaki Harvard University Sasaki Kite Fabrications sasaki@noc.harvard.edu Network Services Division 26 Green Street 617-496-4320 10 Ware Street Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 Cambridge, MA 02138-4002 phone/fax: 617-522-8546 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
