The weather was sunny and the wind variable (veered 120 deg Monday afternoon between two of the Rokaku challanges). Mostly enough wind to fly except for the teddy bear lift/dropping that needed a bit more. (or did I miss a drop?) Being staged right in the centre of a seaside town on the beach makes for a different mix of people. More than half the people there seemed not to have come for the kite festival but came to the seaside for the bank holiday. It also adds a bit of extra excitement to the Rok challange when the cut kite ends up on the roof of the nearby seafront hotel. (they retrieved it by going through a skylight and dismantleing it on the roof and passing it back in time for the next round. The evening had a fireworks display from a raft in the bay together with some illuminated night flying on the beach. These days juggling seems to go with kite flyers with quite a few of the kite stalls also selling juggling balls, rings, pins. As usual I bought a few bits and pieces but no large expenditure on kites this year. Andy... = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
