Subject: What's a few milimeters between friends?

Those of you who were at Fano will remember that I was unhappy with my
5m Peel. It would shoot to the top of the window, then collapse. I
was determined that I was going to fix it before I sold it, so I've
been spending some time working on it.
What I discovered was that some time ago, I undid the primary-to-cross
bridle knot. When I re-tied it, I couldn't work out how to re-tie
the knot, so I used a larks-head.

The difference between the lengths of the first two bridle lines on the centre
rib of the 5m should be 25mm. With use, the larks-head slipped by between
5 and 7mm, (2/10 or 3/10 of an inch), resulting in a line difference of
between the bridle lengths of between 10 and 15mm in stead of the prescribed
25. This difference was enough to stuff up the kite!

Once I found it, the fix was easy... Just retie the knot properly in a
very slightly different place.
