The event will coincide with the annual Wildflower & Music Festival. The flying fields are the same fields utilized for the coveted World Cup Soccer Matches. (The grass's are fantastic) The fields overlook a small lake and we have planted 100's of thousands of wildflowers around the perimeter. We expect these flowers to be in full bloom during the kite fest weekend. The Kite fest will include Individual Precision Individual Ballet Team Ballet Pairs Ballet in classes of Novice,Intermediate,Experienced and Masters Flying areas have been set for Single line flyers and competition will include Judges Choice Best Display Most Unusual Sky Trash Best Deltoid Most Colorful Largest Kite Peoples Choice Best Cellular Largest Train Fliers Choice Best Flat or Bowed Of course there will be Buggier's, Rok Fights, Fighter Kites and the Mystery Ballet. Guests include Abel Ortega, Troy Gunn, Richard Dermer, Rick Roberts Robert Yenn and suprise guests. Abel Ortega will be giving his Kite Flyers Seminar. Rick Roberts will be giving Fighter Kite lessons. Troy Gunn will be demonstrating his kite flying abilities. Richard Dermer will be representing the AKA and show many of his great Kites. Robert Yenn (China) will be on hand to show some of his oriental master- piece kites. All paid entrants will recieve free tee-shirts and trophies will be given to top placers.
