Framed in graphit, new bridles weight around 10 oz. Per Buena vista kites. This xtc was flown in 0-2 (smoke rose straight up) grass was thrown into the air and returned straight down. ( no meter at hand ) Some back walk was involved in flying today., able to do 2 spins, cascading was no problem at all. A new flier that has not done a double spin, did his first today. He also was able to do his first cascade also. overall experience with this kite- excellent I did call Buena vista kites and told Pete how I like the kite. He said that the low wind range for that kite to fly was no where near what we were flying too. Wow, nice kite This is my personal view as a kite flier only. No other relation to Buena Vista Kites other than being a dealer . Dan 8th line should read today, able to do 2 flat spins(axel) etc. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Sat, 16 Dec 1995 02:05:00 -1000 From: Alfred_Schwarz@a-w.maus.de (Alfred Schwarz) Message-Id: <199512161405.a21009@a-w.maus.de> Subject: Re: xtc-new bridles Hi, Dan Whitney told us on 14 Dec 95: g> This xtc was flown in 0-2 Did I get it right, that the XTC now is equipped with a new bridle system which increases its light wind abilities? I would think that the kite flown in the 0-2 mph wind range (smoke rising straight up) that Dan was refering to was the XTC Feather. I have one and it does fly nicely in no wind. Not the best mind you, but nicely.... hee..hee..hee (Shzzz...for a full sized no wind kite, you can't compare with the vanishing point.....) disclaimer: I'm trying to get P&L to send me free supplies.... = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Sun, 17 Dec 1995 17:51:08 -1000 From: Dan Whitney Message-Id: Organization: Delphi (info@delphi.com email, 800-695-4005 voice) Subject: Re: xtc-new bridles The kite flown was the regular XTC and not the feather. That day there was no wind. We really wanted to try it anyway. We set the bridle to the light wind setting. We did have to run a little to launch kite for altitude. We we then able to walk backwards and do the tricks as mention. The bridle is the same as on most stunters, How all the lenghts on the bridle differ from the origional xtc I just do not know. I have not retested since that day. Because those kites being tested were taken. I will do more test on this kite because I think buena vista kite co. really did improve the reg.xtc. Pete said that the kite is not an ul and should have not done what we did. If you have never before done a double spin or a full axle cascade this kite seems to handle it fine. dan gwtw = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Tue, 19 Dec 1995 01:36:11 -1000 From: Tony Stead Message-Id: <4b683b$6qf@sun.rhbnc.ac.uk> Organization: Royal Holloway, Univ of London Subject: Re: xtc-new bridles I have the XTC Indoor (the full size kite not the X4i - which I also have) which was bought in 1994. This kite flies great in no wind conditions. I now have the 1995 XTC Feather with the new bridle but have not found the right conditions to fly it in so I can't make a comparison ... yet. Pete also sent me a spare bridle to fit to the old Indoor as he claims that it does improve the no wind performance. Again time will tell. I own a XTC comp. UL '95 and all I'd like to know is if this one has the newer bridle (which seems to be better for very low wind, as Dan reported) or the older one... And if there's a newer one, then what's the difference? >Pete also sent me a spare bridle Maybe Pete is watching this thread and can help us (me) with the right answer?
