The Maneuver of which you speak is know as "THE YO-YO" It is the one of the feature attractions of the Gremlin and Goblin Kites (See the Into The Wind Catalog) produced by Condor kites in Colorado. The execution of the maneuver is fully explained in their brochure which comes in the bag with the kite. These kites were introduced at the KTA in Las Vegas, Jan 1994. These kites can be made to execute this stunt regardless of their direction of flight and their elevation. I have done it on a power dive and while on a ground pass only 5 feet above the ground. These kites are intended to be entry level kites and are priced accordingly. However, If I was to go back into competition (which I am not) I would seriously consider the Gremlin as my Precision Kite.
