(good stuff deleted) I believe this to be a excellent idea. An extension of the idea would be to have the top kite contain a "rec.kites" logo. Also, each rec.kites member would bring their own kite (made to specific simple size and configuration) to add to the train for the duration of their attendance at the festival. Each individual would use unique graphics and colors and maybe even their I.D. so that members in attendance could be identified by their personalized kite in the train. I can invision one rec.kiter looking at the train and saying "Oh there's Andrews kite, I want to find him because he owes me some money." Or something like that. NO OFFENSE ANDREW, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HUMOROUS. I think the point is that other rec.kites will want to show their attendance with their personalized kite. Further more their could be additional information available at the anchor of the train. i.e. rec.kiters meeting schedule etc I might even be encouraged to make a simple sled to show my attendance. (well maybe I'll have to hire Pam Kirk to make it for me because I can't sew or sing.)
