FORCE 10 RIGID DELTA Steve Shapson has taken sparred kite technology to the limit! His high aspect 15' Force 10 and 20' Enforcer appear to be more closely related to hang-gliders than sports kites. He is now working with soft, 4-line technology as well. We wrote to Steve for more info and he wrote back saying: I NO LONGER PRODUCE THE RIGID FORCE 10 DELTA WING KITE. It is gone, possibly forever. Thank GOD. I'm now totaly consumed with foil and buggy production.... So see the sections on the Force 10 foil and the Force 10 buggy Force 10 kites are quite rare on the East of the Atlantic. We would like to hear more about their suitability for buggying. I suspect that they may have significant advantages: - Fast top speed: suitable for maximum speed runs - Good turning performance - Minimum drag from the bridle (unlike Peel/Quad) - Tight turning from small arm movement (unlike Flexifoil) - Retains shape in zero wind, low wind and luffing (unlike soft kites) - Easy to launch and to set up without launching (unlike Flexifoil/Peel) - Low drag, high aspect ratio However, all this is just from observation. How are they in practice? Contact: Force 10, 10920 N Port Washington Road, Mequon, Wisconsin 53092, USA. Phone: +1 414 241 8862 Fax: +1 414 241 5483
